Project Information

This game was created during my first year, first semester design week challenge at Sheridan College. We were tasked with the challenge of creating a game that used an alternative controller. The game was created by a team of 4 people over the course of 4 days. We created the game in the Unity engine.

Alt-Controller & Game Ideation

What I learned

This was the first game jam I was ever a part of, and it was also my first real experience with finishing and ‘shipping’ a game with deadlines. My main task after coming up with the initial ideation was to not only construct the narrative, but also the flow of gameplay so that they fit each other in tone and pacing.

I used CeltX to organize the entire script , dividing it into parts based on nights played and performance, with multiple endings to match. This is how I kept track of all the different outcomes of the game, as well as included Narration script for all scenarios.

Miro was used to mesh all ideas from different group members together and keep track of our progress and deadlines. Ultimately, we used Miro as our ‘group board’ where all ideas were shared, decided upon, and notes were made regarding past and future development plans.
